Installations

Fantasy Geological Fireplace

Private Home
”Untitled”
Mill Valley, CA
2020

This installation was a team effort! The owner wanted to learn how to mosaic so I gave her a lesson and worked on portions of the fireplace at my studio. I would come by whenever a new panel was ready and I would help her install. Due to the pandemic she had lots of time to work on this masterpiece!

Kenny Alley

Kenny Alley, 2016
”Waterfall”
San Francisco, CA

Kenny Alley is the result of a community coming together to revamp a neglected space which was a dumping ground and at times dangerous to the residents walking through at night. With Friends of Kenny Alley, Excelsior Action Group and many more volunteers I was able to create this mosaic as the center piece.

Kenny Alley Sign

Kenny Alley Sign, 2017
San Francisco, CA

The alley was quite hidden from the street and we wanted the public to notice so we designed a sign to mark the entrance. We paid homage to “Kenny”, a black feral cat that lived in the alley. When I would come by to visit I could call his name and he would come out to say hello. The Mission street side was much simpler but Mission Street was made out of glow in the dark tiles to help with visibility at night.

The Cayuga steps are still in progress and will be installed later this month. The first set was to reflect the houses in the neighborhood, the bottom set will pay homage to Islias Creek and the native flora and fauna and the top set will pay homage to the artist and former gardener of Cayuga Park, Demi Braceros.
